Our Mission
Our mission at Red Rocks Baptist Church is “To Know Christ And Make Him Known.” Jesus Christ has changed our lives and we want to share the good news that He can change your life as well. Having a relationship with Jesus brings peace and stability no matter how crazy life gets. If you would like to learn more about having a relationship with Jesus, watch this video from our friends at The Exchange.
We want to see more and more people in Lakewood, Littleton and Morrison follow Jesus and serve Him with their lives. As we make Jesus known to our community we have three primary initiatives: exalt God’s name, evangelize the lost and edify the saints. Everything we do begins with one or more of these initiatives. By God’s grace our imperfect obedience can bring honor to God and point people to the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Doctrinal Statement
We believe that the Scriptures alone are the sole authority for faith and practice. All sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally (every word) and plenary (completely) inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are completely inerrant, infallible and sufficient.
We believe that the one true God is eternally existent in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity and virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. We also believe:
- He led a sinless life.
- His shed blood on the cross is the only necessary satisfaction for the forgiveness of our sins.
- He died, was buried, and was resurrected bodily.
- He currently is at the right hand of the Father preparing an eternal dwelling place for those who put their faith in him.
We believe that every person is born a sinner and possesses a sin nature. The wages of sin is death, both physical and spiritual. Spiritual death suffers eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire, separated from God for all eternity.
We believe that a person can be saved by God’s grace. Through their repentance of sin and personal faith in the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ a person can receive forgiveness of sin and enter a relationship with God. There is no human merit or works in salvation.
We believe the local church is composed of immersed believers who have joined together voluntarily. This local body should be autonomous and self-governing. No outside ecclesiastical body has authority over Red Rocks Baptist Church. We are a congregationally ruled, deacon served, pastor led church. The church has been called to reach the world for Christ and make disciples of every nation.
We believe there are two local church ordinances: baptism by immersion and the celebration of the Lord’s Table.
We believe that marriage is a permanent commitment between one man and one woman.
We believe in the imminent, personal return of Jesus Christ to rapture his church before the Tribulation, followed by his bodily return to establish his millennial kingdom on earth.
